DERRY - Early Thursday morning, just after one o'clock, Derry Fire Department was requested to send apparatus mutual aid for a dwelling fire in Windham. One quarter hour later, and diagonally across the street from the Central Station, Derry had to contend with their own multiple alarm fire

Derry Fire Chief George Klauber quickly ordered a second alarm, and then a third, due to some of the potential mutual aid for Derry being destined for the Windham fire

The fire caused extensive damage to the restaurant and smoke and water damage to the remainder of the building.
