Lebanon Fire Chief: Staff Is Overworked Budget Asks $60,000 More for Overtime By David Corriveau Valley News Staff Writer Lebanon -- The Lebanon Fire Department last night presented the City Council with a proposed budget of $2.9 million, a 12.5 percent increase that includes $60,000 more in overtime pay. Saturday December 2, 2006 - Colebrook NH Santa will arrive on Main Street atop a Colebrook Fire Department truck, and will stop to light the town tree on his way to the party. The party will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Colebrook Elementary School gym, offering games, treats, and personal visits with Santa.

Christmas Season Activities
Saturday November 25, 2006 Derry Holiday Parade 1:00pm

Annual Seacoast Area Firefighters Toy Bank Drive Firefighters in Seabrook, Hampton, Hampton Falls and North Hampton collect new, unwrapped toys for children ages birth to 11 or 14. All of the toys are given to local children, who might not otherwise have much under the tree on Christmas morning. It is expected that is to be aided nearly 200 families this year.

On Saturday, Nov. 25, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Hampton and Seabrook will sponsor "Stuff the Bus" at the Seabrook Wal-Mart. The bus is the Hampton Trolley, donated for the day. Residents can choose a gift from tagged requests hanging on trees in various retail locations throughout the towns.

Residents may also bring toys to the Hampton Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 1:30 p.m. in downtown Hampton. The Hannaford grocery store is collecting the donations to give to the Toy Bank.

North Hampton firefighters are putting a tag tree at Shaw's and at Newbury North Salon on Route 1. The firefighters help 25 to 45 children, getting names from local organizations.

Residents are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to the Hampton Falls Fire Department to help local kids.



Sullivan NH Founding Member Passes
Sullivan NH The Sullivan Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of founding member Ted Parker, who had sixty years of service with the department.

There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 25 at 2:00pm. Attendees are requested to meet at the Sullivan Fire Station at 1:30pm.

Rick Todd Interim Merrimack Chief
Merrimack NH Rick Todd (Statewide 53) has been named interim Fire Chief for the town of Merrimack

Merrimack Fire Chief Bill Pepler, who has been the chief and emergency management director for the town since 1999, will be retiring from his fire department duties in November. For nearly four decades, Merrimack Fire Chief Bill Pepler has being doing what he knows best: helping citizens in their time of need. But after a distinguished career serving towns throughout the state, Pepler will be retiring from the fire department in November. Pepler, who has been a fire chief for 20 years - seven of which were with the Merrimack Fire Department - will be making a career change, to become the new senior operations manager at Fidelity Investment in Merrimack. LODD Manchester NH Police Officer Fundraiser
Manchester NH Police Officer Michael Briggs, 35, was in critical condition since he was shot at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Lincoln Street at about 2:45 a.m. Monday. Family, friends and fellow officers kept a vigil by his bedside at Elliot Hospital. Officer Briggs succumbed to his injuries today. He was the first Manchester officer killed in the line of duty in 30 years.

Briggs, a five-year member of the Manchester Police Department, had a wife and two children. He was friends with Officer Jeremy Charron, an Epsom, N.H., officer who died in the line of duty on Aug. 24, 1997. Briggs was a pallbearer at Charron's funeral.

From Sippy a fundraiser will be held this Friday, Ocotber 20, 2006 @ the Wild Rover wildroverpub.com in Manchester, for the Family of Manchester Police Officer Michael Briggs. The Rover has been great to the firefighters & police officers, so if you are in Manchester and are hungry or thirsty, please stop in. From 1:00 to 6pm {13:00 till 18:00} 100% of the Lunch sales will go to the family. There will also be a silent auction with different items. Further FYI: Straight donations will also be accepted at both the Rover or thru the Credit Union.

LITCHFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE PARADE On Friday, October 6, the annual Fire Truck Parade will begin at 6:00 PM. The parade this year will start from the North end of town, leaving the Technology Park, heading north. The route is reversed each year to allow residents at each end of town the opportunity to view the parade before dark. From the Technology Park the parade will proceed north on Rt3A, right on to Corning Rd., … to Rt3A. Right on Rt3A heading north to the Griffin Memorial School.
The annual fire station open house will be at the end of Fire Prevention Week, Sunday October 15, 2006 from 1-4 PM.

In 2006 the Bennington Volunteer Fire department will be hosting the 42nd Annual Bennington Battle Day celebration  August 11th, 12th & 13th.

The Bennington Volunteer Fire Department would like to cordially invite you to this great weekend, Which will include many exciting events. All events will be held at the Central Fire Station located at Lincoln & River streets.

As in the past years, this has been a terrific weekend for Fun, Food, Games and visiting with other departments.

A full slate of activities is planned for the weekend, including: Chicken Barbeque, Las Vegas Night, Kids Day, Firematic Events, and a large Parade.

Fire Chief William H. Pepler, Jr. announced today that Lieutenant Richard Pierson has been promoted to Captain and Master Firefighter Brian Dubreuil has been promoted to Lieutenant.

Captain Pierson will take over command of "D" Shift. He was hired as a full time firefighter on September 10, 1990. He was promoted to Master Firefighter on September 10, 1995. On June 30, 1996, he was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Engine 2 at South Merrimack. Mr. Pierson is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He also graduated from the New Hampshire Technical College with an Associates Degree in Fire Science. He is a certified fire officer, hazardous materials technician and EMT.

Lieutenant Dubreuil has been assigned to Engine 2 in South Merrimack. He was hired as a full time firefighter on July 2, 1994. He was promoted to Master Firefighter on August 8, 2001. Lieutenant Dubreuil is a graduate of the New Hampshire College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. He is a certified fire officer, hazardous materials technician and EMT.

NHSFA 109th Annual Convention
September 8, 9 and 10, 2006

This years convention will be a very special one.  On Sunday, September 10, 2006, The Firefighters Memorial in Concord will be dedicated after the parade. Bedford Fire Department will be hosting the convention along with Hooksett Fire Departments.

The events will start in Bedford at the Wayfarer Inn starting Friday, September 8th and will continue through Saturday, September 9th.  On Sunday, the events will move to Concord .

Danville - Danville Old Home Days Weekend on August 26 and 27. The Danville Fire Association will be opening up the fire station for the race and Old Home Days. During the race, registration and refreshments will be held inside the fire station. Fire truck tours and demonstrations will be given.

Every Sunday morning at 10:00am is "radio check" with Mutual Aid in Keene. Visitors are welcome to drop by on any Sunday morning to see the station, or to attend a Wednesday training session. The Francestown Volunteer Fire Department has historically been blessed with the support of the townspeople.

Are Welcome To Participate For Trophies At Our 12th
Annual Parade And Fireman’s Muster. This Years Parade
Theme Is "Courage-Honor-Pride".
When: Sunday July 23, 2006
Parade Lin-Up Time: 10:00am
Line-Up Location: Corner Of East Rd. & Rt. 31
Muster To Follow Parade.

There Will Also Be A Jr. Muster For The Kids As Well As A Pig Roast. We Would Love To See As Many People As Can Be There For Both The Muster And Parade. So The More Trucks And Floats And The More Spectators The Better!
