Kingston Volunteer Fire Association hosts yard sale June 7th

KINGSTON -- The Kingston Volunteer Fire Association will hold its fifth annual townwide yard sale on Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. This will be an opportunity to sell all your unwanted items. The association will advertise the event, create maps to your home and give you a sign designating you as part of this community effort. The name of one lucky family will be drawn for a ride on a fire engine.

The event benefits the KVFA scholarship fund. Each year, KVFA awards a scholarship to a deserving local student.

Each household wishing to participate should fill out an application at the Kingston Fire Station by June 4. These will be available at the station between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. A donation of $20 will be accepted in order to place your address on the yard sale map, which will direct people to all the locations participating in the fund-raiser. If you have any questions, please call 642-3626

Hudson Firefighters Ball To Be Held
For the first time in several years a Firefighters Ball will be held on January 19, 2008. The ball committee over the last few months has put in much time and hard work to finalize the plans for the event.

The ball will kick off at 18:00 at the Kings Court at 222 Central Street. Cocktail hour is from 18:00 to 19:00 hours with dinner to follow. The dinner will included stuffed chicken with all the fixings and desert with music and dancing to follow. LA Photo Works will also be there to take photos of members attending.

Tickets will be $25.00 per person and can be purchased from committee members or from dispatch.
