Rockingham County is located in the south east part of New Hampshire. The county has a population of approx. 220,000 and consists of nearly 720 square miles. Major roads in the area include Interstates 93 & 95, U.S. routes 1,4 and 202. There is no point in the county over 1,000 feet high. The county contains about 18 miles of shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean.

Some of the Isles of Shoals are part of Rockingham County. Notable rivers include the Lamprey River, Piscatagqua River, Exeter River, Cocheco River, Squamscott River, and Oyster River.

Rockingham County Sheriff dispatches many towns in the eastern half of the county on 155.415. The western towns can be heard on 154.950. The car to car repeater frequency is 154.815. The repeater inputs is 155.460. Much of the radio traffic has been in digital mode since the summer of 2002, although some analog traffic remains.

State Police Troop A out of Brentwood covers most of county on 151.400 (most of time digital mode). Much of the county belongs to the Seacoast Fire Mutual Aid system operating dispatch on 154.190 . Fireground operations for many towns are on the statewide frequency of 154.280 or a local government channel. 154.160 is also a popular fireground channel.

Hospitals in the region include... Parkland in Derry, Exeter Hospital, Portsmouth, ...There are also four major hospitals just outside the county limits in Nashua and Manchester. Northwood often transports to Concord Hospital.
