Paul garrant, sw car 91 seriously ill

As many of you know, Paul was experiencing pain off and on throughout the week of the 14th.  On Saturday evening we went to St Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, with what he believed to be the passing of a kidney stone.  A CT Scan did not reveal any stones, but did however show that he had an Abdominal Aneurysm.  Sunday's contrasting CT Scan revealed that his Aneurysm was located in a challenging area up around the kidney arteries, and was 6.6cm in size.  We discussed the associated

risks; kidney failure, which may require dialysis for either a short time after surgery and/or for the rest of his life, and the possibility of colon issues.  On Monday 24 Jan Paul underwent the AAA (Aortic Abdominal Aneurysm) surgery and was placed in ICU.  Upon waking on Monday evening, he was in a tremendous amount of pain, and we discovered that he was having difficulties moving his legs, and felt paralyzed.  We obviously were not expecting this outcome.  He could move

his right toes, feel touch, and bring his heel off the bed, but not move his leg.  On his left leg, he could barely feel touch, couldn't move his toes, and wasn't able to move his leg.  By Wednesday he was gasping for breathe later to learn that was due to the acid level increasing in his system), still unable to move both his legs.  A Spinal Cord MRI was attempted, without success.  St Josephs does
